Nice day of fishing

Nice flounder catch
The fishing in the Cape Fear to South Carolina line has been fair to good, with lots of flounder and a fair number of red drum. The speckled trout fishing has been a little slow but some large ones are around in the 20+ inch range.
With the rain we got in the pass few weeks the trout have been pushed down the rivers to the salty water. It looks to be an exceptional flounder season but very short ones.
We here in North Carolina seem to get the knife on all regulations. The other 4 states in the flounder management association, that we are in, are all open year round. Our priceless Governor and Marine Fisheries want to close all recreational fishing and put everyone out of business that is connected to the saltwater. There is NO storage of flounder! If there were the Marine Fisheries could cut the number you keep and leave it open year round. That way people could fish and keep the economy going. Instead, they break the chain and close the season completely hurting motels, house rentals, tackle shops, restaurants and gas stations.
It has really put a crunch on the guide service in this are, but who cares about any of us!!
